PAUL RODGERS Says Road Warrior Days Are A Thing Of The Past

April 27, 2009

The Pulse of Radio reports: Paul Rodgers says that as much as he loves performing live, the allure of hitting the road for nearly a year is a thing of the past. His recent tour with QUEEN only took in European countries and never hit the States, and this summer's BAD COMPANY reunion tour with the DOOBIE BROTHERS is limited to just 10 shows.

The Pulse of Radio asked Rodgers if the short treks are done to preserve his voice — or his sanity. "Y'know, that's a very good question," he replied. "It's not really the strain on my voice, because actually you get into a groove and you sort of get really, really strong 'cause you have to vocally. It is a strain on the spirit, really. When I was in my teen years and in my 20s and even 60s, it was okay to drop everything and disappear and become a road warrior for all those months. But after a while you get... y'know, one likes to have some home life."

On August 8, the band will release their new concert DVD, "Bad Company - Hard Rock Live", which will be also be available exclusively at shows during the concert run. Prior to their one performance in 2008, the band had not performed together in nearly a decade.
